How I Work

When people get in touch, it’s usually because something needs to change.

That might be a person stepping into a role, a team needing to reset or a session that needs to lead to something practical.

My role is to create the space, structure and challenge needed to help that happen.

I work with organisations across Manchester and the UK, both in person and online.

What it’s like to work with me

I keep things straightforward and focused.

That means:

  • Getting to the point quickly

  • Creating space for honest conversation

  • Keeping discussions structured and productive

  • Challenging where needed

  • Helping people move towards clear decisions

I won’t overcomplicate things or introduce models for the sake of it.

The focus is always on what will actually help.

What happens in a session

Every session is slightly different, but the principles are the same.

We focus on the real issues, not just the surface conversation.

That usually involves:

  • Stepping back to understand what’s going on

  • Exploring different perspectives

  • Identifying what needs to change

  • Agreeing clear actions and next steps

The aim is simple. Leave with clarity and something useful to take forward.

Before we start

We’ll have a conversation to understand:

  • what’s happening now

  • what you want to get from the work

  • what success would look like

From there, I’ll shape an approach that fits your team and your context.

After the session

The most important part of any session is what happens afterwards.

You’ll leave with:

  • clear actions

  • agreed priorities

  • ownership of next steps

In some cases, I’ll come back in after a period of time to review progress and keep things moving.

Who I work with

Most of my work is with:

  • universities

  • public sector organisations

  • leadership teams

  • managers navigating change

I understand how these environments work and how to keep things practical.

A simple example

In one facilitated session, a team identified a change to how they were working.

When I returned six months later, that one action had saved the organisation £30,000 in agency costs.

That didn’t come from a complicated model. It came from creating the right conversation and following it through.

Common questions

Do you only work in Manchester?

No, I work across the UK and can deliver sessions in person or online.

How long are sessions?

Most sessions are between 90 minutes and a half day, depending on what you need.

Can you help design the session as well?

Yes. That’s a key part of the work. I’ll help shape the session so it has a clear purpose and outcome.

What if the team is quiet or difficult to engage?

That’s often when facilitation is most useful. I create a structure that helps people contribute and keeps the conversation constructive.

Do you offer follow-up support?

Yes, where it’s helpful. That might be a follow-up session or a check-in to keep momentum going.
